Celebrating 48 Years of Soccer at PAC
The world game, known as 鈥渟occer鈥 here in Australia, has been part of life at 国产爆料 for over 48 years. Introduced in 1978 by a dedicated and passionate group of students and staff, the game has grown into a thriving program, with more than 170 boys now playing Soccer across the College.
At the heart of its beginnings was coach Clifford Votier, a former English First Division footballer, whose expertise and enthusiasm helped establish the sport at PAC. He was supported by Mr Wyndham Harvey, whose 鈥渦ntiring interest has been instrumental in the establishment of the 鈥榬ound ball game鈥欌 (PAC Chronicle, 1978, p. 41).
Following careful planning, land acquisitions, and the relocation of the Boarding House to Parade West, Soccer will now have a dedicated home on campus. The new pitch, located between St Jacques and the John Dunning Centre, marks an exciting new chapter for the sport at PAC.
To celebrate this milestone and the future of Soccer at the College, past and present players, families, and staff came together to honour their shared connection to both the game and PAC at A Celebration of Soccer in May 2026.
The evening featured a panel discussion with Old Reds Yaya Dukuly (Adelaide United, PAC 2019), John Jovicevic (PAC 2000) and Leroy, First XI Captain, chaired by Sports Presenter Max Burford (PAC 2009), who reflected on their memories of school soccer, Intercol matches, and what this new facility will mean for the PAC community.
